Live news: it's full of surprises. Including ... mysterious animals003 Archives
Morgan Saxton, a broadcast journalist for KUTV in Salt Lake City, Utah, kept on reporting even when an unexpected animal entered the camera frame. "What you're seeing is actually a dog coming into our live shot," she said with a calmness to which we cannot relate.
"I thinkit's a dog," she added. "I'm not sure."
Viewers, however, did notthink it was a dog at all. On a version of the clip uploaded to YouTube, most commenters seemed to think it was either a cougar or a coyote, neither of which are optimal on-camera guests. Luckily, it ignored her and sauntered out of frame.

After the incident, the plot thickened further. Saxton consulted with the Utah Department of Wildlife Resources, which concluded based on footprints that the creature had, in fact, been a dog.
Then, the owner of the dog came forward to confirm -- and also provided a nice photo as proof. It's always nice when the answer to a mystery is also extremely cute.

Please give this dog a job at the station. Thank you.
