The Watch Jukkalan OnlineHandmaid's Tale, Margaret Atwood's iconic 1985 novel, imagines a bleak future ravaged by environmental disasters and plummeting birth rates. The United States has fallen, replaced by the totalitarian Republic of Gilead, where women are treated as property of the state, and the few who remain fertile are forced into sexual servitude in an attempt to repopulate the world.
Hulu has adapted the beloved book into a lavish series starring Elisabeth Moss, Joseph Fiennes, Yvonne Strahovski, Samira Wiley and Alexis Bledel. Moss' character, Offred, provides our window into this terrifying society where one wrong word could end her life. The plot hinges on her attempt to maintain her identity in a world designed to erase it.
Navigating between Commanders, their cruel Wives, domestic Marthas, and her fellow Handmaids -- where anyone could be a spy for Gilead -- Offred has one goal: to survive and find the daughter that was taken from her.
