Oh look, a logo with some random fiery debris strewn all over it and a 24-year-old movie quote plastered under it. How exciting.
Okay, okay. Let's be fair. The tagline is clearly a reference to the fact that Fallen Kingdombrings Jeff Goldblum back as Ian Malcolm, the character who said that line in the original. That's definitely something to celebrate.
But there's just no excuse for that limp title. "Fallen Kingdom" isn't offensive or outrageous, it's just boring. It tells us nothing about the movie itself, and sounds like it could come after the colon on any franchise: Transformers: Fallen Kingdom. Resident Evil: Fallen Kingdom. Pirates of the Caribbean: Fallen Kingdom. It's fine with everything, which means it's great with nothing, and memorable to nobody.
Still, a bad title doesn't always mean a bad movie, so we're just going to hope for the best. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdomis in theaters June 22, 2018. Which is totally enough time to change that title. We're just saying.
