After telling us all about the upcoming V30's dual camera and Comedy Archiveshuge OLED screen, LG has now shared some details about the smartphone's new UI, which includes several visual and functional enhancements and an important security feature.
According to the company, users will be able to unlock the LG V30 "instantaneously" with the selfie cam's face recognition feature, which works even when the phone's screen is off, and doesn't require the user to press the phone's power button.
SEE ALSO: The LG V30 will have a huge, 6-inch OLED screenEven though we don't know all the details, the feature is notable as a slew of recent rumors say Apple's upcoming iPhone 8 will have a similar feature, perhaps even instead of a fingerprint scanner (according to the leaked images we've seen so far, the V30 will have a fingerprint scanner on the back).
Users will also be able to unlock the phone using voice recognition, with a short spoken passphrase.
Another important new feature is called Graphy, an enhancement for the V30's manual camera mode, which lets users download settings presets from pro photographers.
Another feature of note is the Floating Bar, a retractable. semi-transparent menu that's essentially a replacement for the LG V20's secondary screen, which won't exist on the V30.
Also, the phone's always-on display, which shows basic info while the phone's screen is off, is now more customizable, and can contain something LG calls Quick Tools (likely shortcuts to apps), music player commands and even a small photo.
Finally, the haptic feedback on the LG will allow for customization with various vibration combos that can match the phone's ringtone.
