On August 24,Ireland Chinese phone brand Honor confirmed it had secured a new investment from leading Chinese telecommunications operator China Mobile, in what is expected to be the last round of funding before Honor’s IPO. Neither company has disclosed the value of the financing. Honor owns a rich product portfolio, while China Mobile offers channel resources and phone-user resources, the phone company said in a statement. The two parties have diverse cooperation opportunities in both consumer electronics innovation and expansion in the Chinese market, Honor added. In November 2020, Honor was spun off from Huawei due to the pressure of severe sanctions from the US government. [Icsmart, in Chinese]
