If you've been using your commuter benefits for Uber,Watch 365 Days Online now you can add them to Lyft, too.
The underdog ride-hailing company is adding pre-tax commuter benefits to its payment options, five months after Uber introduced the service in New York and a week after Uber expanded that program to a dozen more cities.
Lyft's commuter benefits option will look pretty much like Uber's. Ride-hailing customers can link up to $255 of their monthly pre-tax commuter benefits, as provided by their employer. Customers will need to select their prepaid benefits card to pay and request a Lyft Line thats seats six people in order to meet regulations on what kind of transportation can use pre-tax money.
Lyft's program will work for employees who get their commuter benefits through the providers Zenefits, Benefits Resource, Wage Works, Edenred or Navia. Eligible cities so far are New York, Boston, Seattle and Miami.
