After the announcement, Lord Sugar, the host of the UK edition of The Apprentice, posted a video on Twitter offering to pay the entire sum to shut him up.

“Five grand to silence Piers Morgan for a whole day on Twitter? That’s the bargain of the century," he said.
“Comic Relief, send me the bill straight away. I’ll pay it immediately.
"It’s gonna be a wonderful day without that nutter clogging up the whole of Twitter with his nonsense for the whole day.”
Lord Sugar's efforts didn't stop there.
Morgan, a life-long Arsenal fan, also vowed to wear a Tottenham Hotspur shirt for a full day if a £50,000 target is reached.
That has led Lord Sugar to send more appeals to people on Twitter to donate for a good cause:
