The sex anime videoCarter-Knowles family is celebrating. No, we're not talking about the twins.
In honor of Jay Z's landmark induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, Tidal, known platform for Jay Z appreciation, unveiled a tribute to their main man. It includes videos and essays from Jay's peers and the artists he inspired, including Chance the Rapper, Chuck D, Nicki Minaj, and Pharrell. Bono's also in there, because of course Bono is. There is no sign of recording artist Blue Ivy, though. We will assume she's a fan.
The ceremony is set for tonight, but right now, it's unclear if Jay Z will be in New York City for the festivities.

"To finally have somebody in this culture, this part of the game, this side recognized is long overdue. But I'm glad as hell. Jay Z started this shit," says Chance the Rapper. "It's just crazy to have it be... It makes sense that it would be him. Just being somebody that's always been so vocal about publishing and owning your masters and making the kind of music that people want to sample. He was saying that 20 years ago."
Minaj also recognizes the way Jay paved the way for rappers, writing, "Thank you for giving us the blueprint."
"I can't tell you how proud I am of taking the step to understand that hip hop is a big part, a huge part of our culture. Truly," says Quincy Jones, who knows a thing or two about being a living legend. "I think it's just monumental that a brother's gonna get this."
This tribute comes amid intense speculation about Jay Z's next album, thought to be imminent. Damian Marley told Billboard he's been working with him on new material and Jay Z has a few festival gigs lined up and signed a lucrative touring deal. The mysterious 4:44 marketing scheme turned out to be something else entirely, but the Carter-Knowles family are experts in the art of the shocking reveal.
Congrats, Jay. And congrats to Tidal for always getting the scoop on Jay Z appreciation.
