Turns out that Ed Sheeran was telling the truth about his Game of Thronescameo, in which he appeared alongside Maisie Williams' Arya Stark, because even Game of Thronesstars are fans of stuff.
"I feel like my cameo’s been built up too much though, people will just be like 'Oh. Oh, alright,'" he told ET last month. "It’s not an integral part of it at all, I’m just, like… in it."
We all thought he was kidding when he revealed what he'd be doing during the scene in a radio interview: "I sing a song and then [Arya] goes, 'Oh, that's a nice song,' and I go, 'It's a new one,' and then there's other lines."
But that's pretty much exactly how it went -- bonus points for your honesty, Mr. S!
SEE ALSO: Here's an update on Arya Stark's 'kill list' before 'Game of Thrones' returnsSheeran plays a Lannister soldier (note the distinctive red cloak) who is part of a small group that Arya comes across while she's traveling to King's Landing after killing the rest of Walder Frey's supporters. Naturally, he's just as musically-inclined in the show as he is IRL.
WhileGame of Throneshas trained us to be paranoid every time one of our beloved characters comes across a group of enemies, the scene is surprisingly humorous, with the soldiers complaining about the tedium of war and how frustrating it is to be separated from their families for months at a time, fighting for people who don't care about them.
Naturally, the internet had some thoughts about Sheeran's guest appearance. Some were just plain excited:
