LOS ANGELES -- After saving the galaxy in Star Wars: The eroticism city boiseForce Awakens, Daisy Ridley is hopping over to Sony to join the voice cast of its live-action/CG hybrid movie Peter Rabbit, the studio announced Monday.
Late night host James Corden is voicing Beatrix Potter's furry friend, and he'll be joined by Elizabeth Debicki (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2). Meanwhile, Rose Byrne will play the live-action role of Bea.
The story will find mischievous Peter Rabbit at odds with Mr. McGregor, an old man eager to keep rabbits out of his cherished garden.
After two years in development, Peter Rabbitwill finally start production in January ahead of its worldwide release in April 2018. Will Gluck (Easy A) is directing the movie, which is being made by Animal Logic, the Australian animation company that created the animation for The LEGO Movie.
Interestingly, Ridley never appeared on Corden's talk show to promote The Force Awakens. The British actress next stars in Rian Johnson's Star Wars: Episode VIII. She also narrates and executive produces the documentary The Eagle Huntress, and is attached to star in Lionsgate's adaptation of Chaos Walking.
Ridley is represented by CAA, and Varietyfirst reported her casting in Peter Rabbit.
