LONDON -- The bataille eroticism bookDuchess of Cambridge has paid the ultimate tribute to Princess Diana by wearing one of her favourite tiaras; a family heirloom that has been passed down the royal generations.

The tiara -- which is called the Cambridge Lover's Knot -- was made by Royal jewellers Garrard in 1914 for Queen Mary, who left the tiara to Queen Elizabeth II in her will.
The tiara was originally made from from pearls and diamonds already owned by the royal family, but a top layer of pearls was later removed and turned into brooches.
The Queen wore the tiara frequently at evening events.
In 1981, the Queen gave the tiara to Princess Diana as a wedding gift, who first wore it at the state opening of parliament that year.
