No explanation needed.
The New Yorkerwasn't alone in mocking the president. Virginia Congressman (and apparently expert Twitter troll) Gerry Connolly created his own Timemagazine cover to hang "in all four of [his] offices," the headlines of which are pretty spectacular:

Even late night hosts joined in on the fun. After discussing Trump's disastrous healthcare bill, Seth Myers of NBC called the phony Timecover story "the funniest thing [he'd] ever heard," and said it was "the literal definition of fake news," which, obviously, it is.
Oh, the irony.
So, what does the president say to all of this? There are reports that Timehas asked Trump to remove the fake cover from his properties, but no word on his response just yet.
In the meantime, let's just be grateful this quintessentially Trump mistake has brought out the best the internet has to offer.
