It's a big week for Emma Watson with her much-anticipated live-action remake of Beauty and Aboutthe Beastcoming out, but a celebrity photo hack is attempting to shift the spotlight.
SEE ALSO: The world's most wanted hacker is basically a nerdy supervillainDozens of photos from a private session with a stylist were stolen and posted online, the BBC confirmed Wednesday. None of the photos were nude, her publicist said, and the actress is taking legal action over the hack.
The Beauty and the Beast actress was not the only victim. Amanda Seyfried was reportedly hacked as well, only her stolen photos included nude shots and "intimate moments" with a former partner.
In a letter from Seyfried's lawyers that TMZposted, it explains that the images were leaked and "wrongfully obtained by a third party or parties without Ms. Seyfried’s knowledge or consent."
The letter demands the photos be removed from a fake celebrity gossip website.
It seems as though the rash of leaked photos that started on Reddit and 4chan this week is part of the crudely named "The Fappening 2.0," which is a reference to the celebrity photo-hacking scandal from 2014.
